OUR COMMUNITY CHAMPION

Dr. Gregory Gamache passed away on Saturday, July 22, 2006 after a courageous battle with cancer.  

Greg served as our team physician and was an integral part of our 2005 Wisconsin State Football League (WSFL) Championship team.  Greg gave unselfishly of himself to better our team and our community.

In honor of Greg’s impact on our organization and the West Bend Community, the we took the following actions:

1.  We have established the Dr. Gregory Gamache Memorial Junkyard Dogs Scholarship which will be awarded to a deserving West Bend East or West student/football player each year.

2.  We observed a moment of silence in Greg’s memory before each of our 2006 home games. 

3.  We retired the # 1 Junkyard Dogs jersey before our home game against the Oostburg Rebels (Saturday, September 9th at Pick Field) in honor of Greg and his outstanding contributions to our team and the West Bend area community. 

4.  We added a decal to the back of all of our helmets to honor Greg and remind everyone of the shining example Greg displayed in giving back to our community. 

5.  We dedicated our 2006 season in Greg’s honor.
